One of the guys in my zone had a short wave that would pick it up, and we would pick up the occasional American sporting event. The mission president found out about it, and told the missionary he had to hand the radio over to the mission president. I was the ZL and told the missionary not to turn it in, that if the mission president didn't want the missionary to listen to America Free Radio, then the president should just tell him not to listen to it. The other ZL heard about my advice and narc'd me out to the president, and I got called on the carpet. I was sad to lose the only sliver of American sports we had in South America.
