I'm guessing that ESPN is providing a bunch of premium services nobody really
cares about. In the past when they were flush with cash they expanded their sports empire and developed a lot of services, features, blogs, etc.

I think now that cash is tight they are realizing that while nice, nobody is going to pay extra for those items and they are all being slashed. And really, the consumer doesn't care very much at all.
