Just having family members who didn't come back it's hard not to thank those who have put their lives on the line in order to allow us to have freedom. In the midst of eating BBQ and taking time off from work I try to teach my kids the importance of thanking veterans, not just in Veterans Day, but every chance they can. They are the real heroes who keep the boogeymen away and for that we should always be grateful.
