probably the biggest reason. my opinion is that the Jazz saw an elite
guard defender with an excellent opportunity to become a knockdown shooter, despite pedestrian numbers in college, because he has a very good shooting stroke. didn't hurt that he possesses those qualities in addition to being a high character guy.
