Dunkirk was a very different war movie. Oh, there were explosions and guns and whatnot (no spoilers)
One guy in our party didn't like it because it wasn't like Saving Private Ryan. I think that's why I DID like Dunkirk (and I like SPR).
No back stories, minimal dialogue, just raw emotion. It felt disjointed and strangely enough, that was a good thing for this style of film.
