So an orange kitten shows up on our doorstep and refuses to leave. Someone probably dropped the thing off and it just adopted our doorstep. So my young kids thought it would be a great idea to play with it and feed it. I was against this from the start, especially since we already HAVE a cat. but apparently, now I have an indoor cat and an outdoor cat. This kitten has never been inside the house and sleeps on our covered porch in a box the kids made for it.

My 2 year old woke up this morning complaining that her older sister got in bed with her. She does this, but what's odd is that as she's walking to the bed, you can hear the tinkle of a cat bell behind her. She hears this too and can probably sense something is there following her which scares her into running and crying in terror for the safety of mommies bed. Kind of funny. I'm half asleep during all this, but i can hear the cat's bell hop around the room exploring. It's the kitten. the outside kitten. Next I hear it clawing it's way up the comforter and then at 3 am it's sitting on my chest purring like it just learned how. The outside cat is now sitting on me in the middle of the night. Not good.

My wife then spooks the daylights out of me by saying "that's not our cat" and turns the light on.

thankfully, it WAS this new outside kitten but then Mrs. Cougarclaw asks the key question "how did it get in here?". I say, 'check the front door, and make sure it's not sitting there open all night'. Then she wisely asks the 2 year old, "did you go outside and let the kitty in?" 2 year old says "yes." wife promptly removes the furry orange invader and tells the 2 year old not to wander around outside alone in the dark.

So my 2 year old likes to go outside in the middle of the night while we're all sleeping and let animals in the house. wonderful.
