The only goal in indy is going undefeated. Lose one game and the next goal is 6
Wins and bowl eligibility. There is literally no difference between 6 wins and 11 wins. Once kids lose one game, the pressure is off.
Having a conference championship motivates kids. Where getting to 8 or 9 doesn't matter in indy, it absolutely does in conference. It could determine conference championships and bowl destinations. I know guys like to think it doesn't matter but it does.
