Not if by entering the portal
you automatically lose your scholly and have to apply to get it back. THAT would make a very risky thing!
And my understanding is that once you declare for the portal, whether or not you get your scholly back is ENTIRELY up to the coach.
So this thing is not without risk to the "exploring" player.

Why even give scholarships to kids with NIL money? Give those scholarships to athletes in non-revenue sports.
