The service group will arrive in about 5 weeks to build the shell (walls, ceiling, doors, and windows). The family will be will be able to complete the home later. They will have weather proof shelter for the first time.

We still have a long way to go. Incomes in that part of Mexico are about $400-800/month working a six day work week.

We will not be touching these funds until the shell is built then these funds will be used for faucetts, toilet, shower, etc. My wife and I have been able to help with the demolition, debris removal, and concrete without touching the GoFundMe dollars.

The family started with 50,000 pesos of their own (US$ 2,946), and they have been very careful with that. Virtually all the work has been done by the family or donated labor. Their funds have been used to remove the debris and prepare the ground (plumbing, etc), not to mention the cost of concrete.
