CougarBoard has a team of hard-working moderators, but they can't be everywhere! As the board has grown, moderating it has become an increasingly difficult task. We're now enlisting (deputizing?) board members to help out.
If you are willing, you will occasionally be given "mod points". The site will choose the people to assign points to randomly. These points can be used to add or subtract a star from posts. They don't last forever, so if you don't use them, you'll lose them. If you use them inappropriately, your chance of receiving mod points in the future will go down, and it may affect your personal rating as well.
When you accept mod points, you will begin seeing a button with a star above posts, like so:
If you click on it, you will be given the option to give a +1 or -1 to that post. There are several descriptions for them, so please choose the correct description.
This information can be found on the
Community Moderation page. You can access it in your account dropdown.
If you are selected for mod points, you will see a "star" button up type (next to the "followed threads" button). Clicking on it will bring you to the Community Moderation page, where you can accept or reject the mod points. You have to be online to be selected for mod points.
