Tell HR to stay in their lane and collect resumes and screen candidates on basic
stuff (how does this fit into your career goals, etc.). For competency, it must be engineers. Next time, just don't let them see it beforehand haha. Or premise it as 'good questions to ask other engineers in any situation to understand where they can add value and where there are development opportunities' and leave 'interview' off the vocabulary lol. Or ignore this person and escalate it to your engineer managers and move forward anyway.
