Don’t think of up and down. Think of it as towards gravitational center and away from gravitational center.
When you’re at the center, any way you go would be “up”. Kinda like how at the North Pole everywhere is South.

You'd be weightless in the center of the core. The mass of the earth would be pulling you in every direction equally.
