But I can't help if people are starting to apply a term that makes no sense. It is not part of anything the CFP has written or provided. And I usually try to use a quality source when ever possible. In this situation I'd say the CFP web site that has been up for several months and makes no mention of a FF is the higher quality source.

That said I can guarantee that if talking heads at ESPN or those that publish articles on their site start using it now then it will become common place among the masses. It doesn't mean it was the intended or right term when they set out to create the CFP but it seems like it will be now.

But would you ever admit that a football RPI has never been used for anything of significance when it comes to bowls, championship games, etc?
