I have a hard time believing the coaches poll will let us climb higher than #6.

Look, playoff wasn't established for inclusion. It was set up to further exclude non-P5 teams. It used to be the BCS 6, then they got rid of one conference by raiding the Big East's handful of good football teams.

Now we're down to 5 conferences. And those conferences don't share or want to play nice with the little folks. If you're not one of them, they're not going to do you any favors.

There is already going to be enough talk about BYU if we're undefeated. And there is going to be a lot of talk about the #5 team that gets left out of the playoff. The P5 and its hand-picked committee isn't going to let BOTH of those conversations be about BYU. I don't see how BYU climbs higher than #6.

They might throw us a bone with a NY6 game. But I'm not even sold on that prospect.
