True for some people, but i think most apple buyers just like Apple products that much. It's fun to call apple buyers lemmings who just gravitate to clever marketing, but Apple sold 75 million iPhones last quarter. The price difference is so great I don't know how you can say that many people are just tricked into buying a name.
I think the simplest answer is people with enough disposable income just prefer iPhones. And iOS is a big part of that. It's the differentiator that OEMs can't copy. That's how Apple keeps the iPhone from becoming a commodity like Android phones.
