They will still be better than their previous history, but looking back their glory years will have been when they were in, and byu was out.
I have long maintained that Utah (the state) is too small of a pond for two big football fish. If you look at our histories, when one was up, the other sucked. Very rarely have both teams been good at the same time. They share too much of the same recruiting pool despite what Whit says. Utah is not going to out-recruit the Cali Pac schools, they need local talent to supplement the scraps they will pick up from TX & CA. With a lot of the local talent going back to BYU (again, if we get in), their program will regress a bit. (or hopefully a lot )
