"commits" are open to being recruited all the time. I think the way Kaho goes about wording things is weird, but he can still be a commit who'd sign right now if he could, but still be open to taking visits and all that. Plenty of recruits do that. Yes I agree that the true sense of being "committed" has gone astray, but the simplest way to put it is that he's still a BYU guy. Just open to receiving more attention and maybe he'll keep looking. Jaren Kump is a similar kind of guy. Doesn't mean he's not committed to BYU right now.
What would you call Najee Harris last year? People questioned whether he'd end up at Bama or not. But he was a Bama commit for a long time and stuck with it, despite publicly being open to plenty of suitors, and taking a good look around even after making that decision to commit. He was still a commit the whole time.
