the problem is Mitchell's actor isn't comfortable kissing another dude so the show figures out a way to avoid it. Ticks off the gay community.
While I think your theory has merit, I still think the gay-centric plots of Season 2 are due to a unimaginative producer thinking that Cameron's character is the golden ticket for that show. Cameron is hilarious, but the show needs to get back to the well-rounded story lines because too much gay is not funny...
