Doing the slow conversion at my place
Costco bulbs are working well. If you are in Utah and if you have a lot of canned lights (recessed lights) you can go to Home Depot or Lowes and purchase the lights in a new can for around $30 each. You can then apply to Rocky Mtn Power and receive a $20 cash back incentive for each light purchased. $10 for a new can and an LED light that is flush with the can (no bulb visible)...not bad. Will do this with the main floor and finish off the basement and upper floor with the Costco bulbs.

153 lights to replace.
Using Workindev's math that is $3,350 / yr. Of course I do not have each light on for an hour a day--some days go by without any use. But he is right...it adds up quickly.
