scholarships with athletes and not just shooters/scorers. That is a great change of pace.
In no way am I trying to knock on previous players either. They were great basketball players. But if you already have player A and B that are starting it does not make any sense to get a lesser version of player A and B as their backups. Get a player C and D who have different skill sets.
Bartley was great, sure he had his shortcomings but he showed athletic flashes that actually kept us in and won games. He didn't do it every game but he did it every so often, hit some big shots in a close win vs. Texas, electrify the crowd in a win over Utah State, have some big blocks @ Gonzaga. That is what you want your bench to do.....last year we did not have anything close to that other than one half of steady play from Beo.
I like our depth much better on the guard line this year. Much better.
