To your second point, in the aggregate, the value of the returning players mentioned, Seljaas, Andrus, Nixon and Luke Worthington could certainly be argued as a positive. Seljaas can certainly contribute, Andrus seems to have grown into his body nicely, and the much maligned Worthington played much better defense than most on here gave him credit for. But the original post was saying that the value of the returning players, PLUS the coaching change, PLUS some seemingly talented newcomers made the poster think that a big step forward was possible and then he proceeded to explain why.
