You take his passing and court vision and put him back in his physical shape he had prior to BYU, you have a very valuable player with a well rounded game. There were small glimpses of him being able to get to the hoop, but the struggle was being able to finish because he had no vertical and it got worse as he knee got worse during the year. But, he was able to finish earlier in his career and we did see the off the dribble dunk mid season which is likely what he'll be fully capable of doing giving his knee a full year.
In spite of that you take a look at how he played against the 2 BEST teams we played(ISU, Houston) and take his +/- in those 2 games, I'll take that every day if that's what one dimensional looks like and if that's how he can dissect teams with ELITE defenses. He ultimately neutralizes any threat of a half court trap. Compare/contrast that with Fous who folded against the better defenses. That may not be as important against teams that aren't as good defensively, but we win at ISU if Khalifa could have given us 30-35 minutes. That's value
Lastly, Khalifa had his worst games of the year over the last 2 games of the season. Some of that could be his knee just being done or some could be the fasting. I'm not gonna hold that against Khalifa, but it's tough that a guy who is a regular season difference maker may be a shadow of himself come tourney time.
