TNG made a better series. TOS had better films.
Of course, the hit rate on quality was really only 1 out of 3 films. First one was trash, III and IV were more TV series rather than movie worthy, V was trash, which leaves only II and VI as hits.
The TNG movies really didn't rise above what they did in the series.
The Abrams movies are decent action movies, but lack the heart of Star Trek.
