Not sure the Big12 leftovers could have raided us
In the scenario presented above, assuming 6 teams left the Big12 & the MWC remained unscathed, would the teams in the MWC really be interested in leaving the MWC for the Big12?

Keep in mind that the Big12 would have questionable life expectancy. The Big East might be taking a shot at some leftovers themselves, and it's not unimaginable that the SEC, ACC and/or Big10 might decide to go mining either. Also remember that in the scenario above, the MWC has a pretty solid in to become auto-bid, and especially with one less AQ conference already, there's a GREAT chance the MWC could be AQ very, very soon.

Throw in the fact that the MWC is looking to be AQ, and therefore will be FAR more attractive in terms of TV contracts, and the reality is that the MWC could be seen as a more tenable conference than the fractured Big12.

In the end, we just don't know what would have transpired - but whether the MWC becomes the new Big12, or the Big12 goes headhunting, the top MWC teams would now be in an AQ conference, and BYU would be happy with where they are at.
