The reason why the game was cancelled was because the MWC conferance Championship game is on that day and the MWC mandated that all teams must have that date open. Hawaii then asked BYU if they were williing to move to another date and BYU refused. Thus, the game had to be cancelled. Also, since the contract stated that it was a home and home series, the 2014 game had to be cancelled too. But mutal agreement, a new home and home series will be presented later.
