which only works on occasion in the NFL. I have to say that I have been very impressed by the way Alex Smith has responded to the benching. I can only imagine how difficult it is to have taken the team to the NFC championship the previous season only to be benched after an injury and replaced by a rookie. I think ASmith is a classy guy, his yewt affiliation notwithstanding.
