Pingree could show us whether or not we need Kaufusi. Of course, it matters how much Austin, Sharp and Winder have improved.
Bartley's expectations have been raised (on CB only, Rose & co. have known) since the slam dunk contest. Mika is going to be better than Davies immediately.
But #1 remains whether Rose has found a solution to the leadership gap at PG. If he has, BYU surprises big on the upside. If not, it will be another long season. The main alternative possibilities are, in order of likelihood:
1. KC is an outstanding PG ( BYU goes 28-7, 14-4 WCC);
2. best PG alternative remains as it has been the past two seasons (24-11, 12-6);
3. Carlino has a complete conversion to a pass first, defense minded PG, serving the new big 3 of Haws, Mika, and KC while cutting his shots in half (30-5, 15-3);
4. Bartley turns out to be superb at PG (27-8, 14-4).
