It appears as if thats a Southern Pacific Rattlesnake (Crotalus oreganus helle)
They are common to the Murrieta area and will become more prevalent over the next few months. If there is one snakes, I'm sure there are more. Keep a very close eye on any pets or kids as this breed of snake has a VERY toxic bite that can prove fatal. It typically requires a much higher dose of anti venom than many other breeds of rattlesnakes.
