Nothing flashy or special, just better fundamental defense and much better footwork. He has always played defense with the top half of his body but tonight, he slid, he moved, he positioned and bodied up opponents and stayed in front of them. he's been studying, learning and maybe for the first time, being taught what defense is. For the first time in his career he did not look completely lost on defense. He relapsed a few times but overall he was pretty solid imo. If not solid, at least not a liability, and once he found his shot and confidence, he was great!
Oh, and offensively you could just see confidence building up... Not necessarily in him, but in his team mates confidence in him. I mentioned to my son how impressed I was that they were actually playing TEAM ball!
