I like to follow threads that my friends post in. I have some friends who rarely post, so when they do I don't want to miss it. But following every thread my friends post in has become too difficult to manage.
I know the idea has come up before to allow CBers the ability to determine which friends they want to follow (and at what level). Here are some ideas that I thin would be helpful:
- Allow users the ability to sort and mark threads that are currently followed based on thread characteristics. In other words, lets say I have 200 threads in my followed threads and I can tell a bunch (let's say 100) of them are in the NBA category. Let me have the ability to unfollow all of these NBA threads at once. Now I only have 100 threads to follow and it has instantly become much more manageable.
- Let users see the reason why a post/thread showed up in the followed thread queue. For example, next to the thread title it would say "You've replied in this thread".
Am I the only one who is having a tough time managing their followed threads? Do you guys have other ideas that might be helpful?
