So, this is my top 5:

Marc Wilson vs. SDSU, 1979
Jim McMahon vs. SMU, 1980
Steve Young vs. AFA, 1983
Ty Detmer vs. SDSU, 1991
Robbie Bosco vs. Michigan, 1984

I tried to look at what the QB brought to the game rather than just games where the team played great, and added a bit for the importance of the game. I also believe for it to be a "great performance" that BYU has to win, otherwise it wasn't really great.

I almost added Beck vs. TCU but, on reflection, realized that despite Beck's great game you have to credit the defense with that win. It is also why I left the Miami game off, it was a solid game by Detmer but that was a team win, again the defense deserves much of the credit. And in maybe some bias, I left Taysom Hill's game against Texas off because his great game was rushing the ball, his passing that game was pretty poor.

I did limit this to one performance by QB but not necessarily consciously. The problem becomes that there are so many great games by BYU QBs, and it gets hard to compare based on the teams, the perception of the program, and the way football has changed. I was looking for great games across eras.
