RE: Here are countless articles that agree with me:
All of you articles are fine and dandy. But I'm not saying RBI is the most useful stat. I understand there are more useful ones. I'm just saying it's not worthless.

Let me give you an example. Now this example may be extreme but it paints a picture of what does happen to a lesser extent. I make the example extreme so you get my point.

Say player A gets 500 at bats in a season. He has 250 at bats with the bases loaded and he pops out to the catcher every time. He has 250 at bats with the bases empty and he hits 20 home runs and 230 triples.

Say player B gets 500 at bats. He has 250 at bats with the bases loaded and he hits 20 home runs and 230 triples. He has 250 at bats with the bases empty and he pops out to the catcher each time.

Now they have the exact same offensive numbers except player A has 20 RBIs and player B has 710 RBIs.

You're telling me Player B didn't have a better season. The only stat with any difference is RBI and one guys season is like a billion times better.

Some guys just do it with runners on. There's a clutchness to it. And RBI can show that clutchness. It may not be the most telling stat, but it ain't worthless.

I have nothing more to say. You can post articles until you're blue in the face but the fact is RBI is not a worthless (ie. literally has 0 worth) stat.
