I have a nutritionist friend who insists that dessert is a good idea...
He says that a small dessert with dinner each night can help provide some sweetness and curb the want to snack later on. Of course his idea of dessert isn't a giant sugar bomb, but something like fresh fruit or a small serving of sherbet, or something else prepared at home (so you control what goes in it). Of course, he wouldn't support the gravy soaked meals each night...
