I am buying a new car, and it made me remember my first time
My first car was purchased from a low end dealer with snake eyes. Little known fact, I can be a hot head when it comes to negotiations, and don’t like to be crossed. The dude was hot leather strap on cold steel in the negotiation. But being young and hot headed . . one wrong move and he would feel like a human target in my eyes.

Negotiations are somewhat of a game to me. At the time I did not have a lot of money, but the negotiation proceeded, I had him in my sights. It was not that great of a car. He thought he had me cornered, but I felt like I held the rope that was going to hang him.

I wanted a car that would show the chicks I was clearly a wanted man . . you hear me clearly . . I was a BYU dude, a Mormon all star, a wanted man!

Well back to the negotiation, with that snake eyed gun fighter of a car dealer. I had the power in this negotiation, I could walk away, and at every move I wanted him to think twice.

Just a word of a advice, do you want to win?. . .are you fast? I start in the evening when they are already tired, and I am quick when loaded up on caffeinated pop, and before you know it, the fight is over and its time to say goodnight.

Anyway, I manhandled the guy, It was like I targeted him square in the eyes, I had the car in my sights, and I roped it in at the price I wanted.

I got a call the next day from the snake eyed dealer dude asking for more money. Apparently the dealership lost money on the deal, and the guys manager later wanted to hang the dude by a rope. The only way he was going to save his neck was by getting another $500 from me. I said no way, and he called me a dirty rat gangster. What? A dirty rat gangster? I don’t even know what that means.

Then he threatened me, saying he was going to get me, and “did I really want to be a wanted man . . .a wanted man”

That was a lot of work for a 1979 two tone green Dodge Omni

I laugh about it now, but I have to admit, it scared me a bit, and everytime I go into a dealership, even now, I have some fear of seeing that dude again. . . .”Cause I'm a wanted man . . . yes I am”
