I have to agree big5 is where BYU needs to go. I also have to admit that the
smaller conferences may limit what they can offer in comparison to the big5. I think being in a conference is important. Not being in one of the big5 as in the past is negative for BYU. I mostly dislike being left out of the big boy club and indy does not equate to big5. It seems that alot of cbers think that it does and it does not. Just look at our bowl options. Others were also correct that if byu is exciting to watch then the opponent is not as important. But I am envious of lesser teams having affiliations with the big5 and BYU the best of the rest and that includes all of the teams that recently were invited to the big5 being left out.

Being left out on the fringes may mean that at least in football were are being left out on the fringes to dry out and die. I'm sorry but the WCC does not excite me. They are precieved as less than the MAC out here in Ohio. Getting money from ESPN is great for the school but their getting a couple million dolllars more a year doesn't get me all excited.

I am not as anti MWC as alot of cbers. There are good things about being left on your own to fend for yourself. But you are still left out on your own and your success and failure won't bother or affect anyone else to be excited or dissappointed about you. It is byu fans and only byu fans who give any interest in byu doing well or flopping on their faces. so now there isn't even a regional interest in byu except for the day that your team plays byu. I don't know how that increases the national interest in byu. We may be on tv more but I don't know if as many eyes are interested in watching byu as when they were in the MWC. Those teams could care less about byu now that their record does not reflect on their team or the conference.
