RE: i'm wondering where Harvey fits in. Watching his Nebraska highlights
You have a hard time seeing a scenario where he doesn't start?

I think you should think about a few things.

Jackson won't even be in Provo for another month, I believe he is still in Nebraska finishing up his degree. He will have a lot of catching up to do, he will be learning a new scheme and adjusting to life in an environment that is very different from the one he is coming from. He didn't participate in Nebraska's spring ball and was not involved in their off season workouts, so he will have some rust to shake off from not playing football or being involved in organized football activities. And even though I am sure he is staying in shape, he probably will have to play catch up a little with his conditioning as well.

And yes Bronco would bring him in for one year to add depth, in fact I believe Bronco made a comment about adding depth when Jackson agreed to come here. Last year proved that you can never have enough depth, going into fall camp we were in good position with our DB's, not so much by the end of the fall camp. Why wouldn't he bring in a guy that can contribute for one year if he has the schollie to spare? I don't see him starting right now, especially not right away, but he will probably play a lot.

And you mention that he was a started for a Big 10 team, and he did until he got beat out. Remember he is coming here because he lost his starting spot at Nebraska, he may have played for a Big 10 team but he was not a great player, he was never an All American or All Big 10 or anything like that and you should keep that in mind.

And remember how Bronco operates, you think Jackson is just going to start right away when we have some decent players that Bronco already knows and trusts? I am not saying he can't start, but it is an uphill battle for him to start right away. And really his best chance to start may depend on what happens at the Boundary Corner position, if the coaches are comfortable with Trammel then Rob Daniel will likely end up starting at safety. If they are not comfortable with Trammel or if some injuries occur or some thing weird happens Daniel may be moved back to CB and start there which may open up the job for Jackson.

Of course they feel they can get significant minutes, or at least more minutes than they were at their previous schools. But they don't have to start in order to get significant minutes. I don't expect much from Nelson, maybe he will be used to just run some straight verticals a few times a game to try and tire out an opposing teams DB's. Leslie is the most likely of the transfers to start, I expect him to play a lot, Jackson is the 2nd most likely.
