If English courses feature rap lyrics in 400 years, maybe they will be lauded.
I do think that Shakespeare had the help of his plays to carry his poetry this far. Though, I'd like to see where these words were located in his body of work.

Who knows, generations away from us may watch our best movies and listen to our best music, possibly on an academic level, like we do with Shakespeare in certain studies; they won't have to hear the huge breadth of music we have today, just the highlights. There will probably be a rapper or two in the future history books, but for a comparison to Shakespeare today, I'm betting it would be movie directors or music producers and their respective inventions that perpetuate that far.
