They let Bonds go, acted like he never happened, and changed everything
My passion for Giants baseball just gradually faded out because of so many changes... the teams of Rich Aurilia, Jeff Kent, Barry Bonds, J.T. Snow, Rob Nen, Benito Santiago, etc. were gone... I felt like they became boring and, on top of that, weren't fair to my childhood sports hero who had brought them a lot of income and who they had probably known more about than they let on. Around that same time, the Rockies made a run to the World Series, I went to the tiebreaker game in 07 which is still one of the most exciting sports games I've ever attended, and I was living in Colorado. It was just a gradual shift where over time I felt more connected to the Colorado team than San Fran. After the Giants won a World Series, I felt at peace with what I had always wanted as a kid, and that allowed me to fully move on. I still root for them against the Dodgers and in some circumstances, however, and maybe you should be grateful because they suddenly won that title when I had made that switch... I am kind of a sports jinx it seems. haha
