I don't get the impression that BYU is being evaluated as a P5. For conferences that include a strength booster requirement, they are requiring a P5 or ND. That is not the same thing. They are simply not including BYU among the potential strength boosters (which I don't blame them, because it opens up too many doors for others petitioning to be included). There's no certainty that other conferences are even going to require it. Right now, it's just the SEC and their tag along little brother.
