Just asking for some cred and some love from naysayers and nimrods
Look. I'm not going to rub it in your faces certain naysayers and nimrods. You know who you are -- and I could type your handles in pretty darn easily. You were the ones shouting me down, calling me names, saying I didn't have legit sources, doing everything you could to make me look like a tool, or worse, a hack or troll.

Let's review the record shall we:

1. Concurrently with the announcement of the UCLA Home-Home scheduling, I canvassed my media friends associated with Texas and OSU to inquire as to any new reaction from the Big12.
2. My media sources said that in response to the announcement there had been significant movement from decision makers as it had impacted their contingency plan -- meaning that the Big12 had a contingency plan if BYU nestled up to the Pac12.
3. Additionally, my sources indicated that the UCLA scheduling alone wasn't the issue, but that BYU's substantial weight of games favoring Pac12 was of great concern and the Big12 decision makers were mad at the Pac12 (yes, mad, angry, frustrated, etc.) because they felt the Pac12 held this announcement off until the Big12 meetings had adjourned and that they did it on purpose to avoid a more significant discussion of BYU during those bi-annual meetings. As a result, the Big12 felt all was well in zion and its discussion about BYU was simply a "wait-and-see" approach.
4. Initially, it was unknown what the "contingency plan" of the Big12 for BYU was, but over the next week, it became apparent that their contingency plan was to develop a Scheduling Agreement with BYU and that this may have been jeopardized by the Pac12's being overweighted on BYU's schedule -- thus precluding their contingency plan.

Now we see that this issue is being raised by multiple other sources -- despite the fact that initially there was denial amongst many from official and semi-official sources. Now we are seeing the dam start to break and many are confirming that such a scheduling agreement was certainly on the minds of decision makers.

I have never said (at least to my recollection) that the movement was about BYU joining the Big12, but that the movement was CAUSED by the UCLA announcement and the timing of the announcement. I was VERY clear that the move by the Pac12 generally, and the UCLA announcement specifically caused concern for the Big12 decision makers regarding their contingency plan for BYU. I was clear that the Big12 considers BYU a go to program for expansion, but that adding BYU was not critical if they could just tie BYU up and stop them from joining the Pac12 through a scheduling agreement.

Given that I spoke early and often on this topic and quoted my sources when everyone else was naysaying and nimroding me -- I'd simply ask that the naysayers and nimrods correct the record in terms of their trashing me and the folks I rely upon for information relating to the Big12.

As to those awesome dudes who supported me -- I'd say you chose the right side and I will ID you by name: Thanks goes out to the following who did not doubt -- or even if they doubted they continued to at least give me the benefit of the doubt: PatakiCougar, JackStack, IceBlue, Zak, ManicBlue, JayOwen, Bucko, LEDSF@, P-Widdy, IBmango, CougarPilot, travelcoug, SausageKing (always liked that guy), Titlecoug, Iman23, and others who supported me on the board in public fashion.

As I've said in recent posts -- media sources need to stay confidential or they will lose their sources. It is hearsay, so it isn't always dependable. I get that. I'm not even saying that the information we get is going to be 100% correct 100% of the time, but at least they are reasonably reliable.

Going forward, I'd only ask for the benefit of the doubt and if I comment quoting a source, that I not be personally attacked and dismissed. As a very long time member of this board, and having been suspended only twice that I can recall in all that time, I'd expect a little respect -- the same you would show to any old Cougar with long-time friends and associates.

This board can get full of youngin's who don't know or appreciate the dialogue that has taken place over the last decade or so and these are the ones who seem to attack first. To them I'd simply say, if you are quick to attack -- you should also be quick to eat humble pie.

That is all.
