I would love to see Midway don today - but with no cheesy love story element.
After all, that was one of the things that killed Pearl Harbor for me. I much prefer the older Tora, Tora, Tora to the recent Pearl Harbor.
I don't know if I could watch a remake of either Patton or The Bridge on the River Kwai. George C. Scott and Alec Guinness are just so iconic in those films - I'm not sure those performances could be matched.
