Clearly it didn't go over well with Matt, but it needed to happen. From a fan perspective, I think everybody (including Rose) kept waiting for Matt to get past the kind of "freshman mistakes" that players usually outgrow with more experience, but he just never seemed to progress beyond what we saw out of him his first 2 years in the program.
