foreclosures and short sales that had happened in previous years in the neighborhood. I don't mind paying local taxes, especially to the school district. I figure I am getting a bargain on the amount of money I pay in taxes vs. the education my kids are getting in school. In fact my oldest got enough scholarship money to pay for about 5 years of property taxes. At least that is how I am choosing to look at it.
