Sure, when looking at the quality of our program we look more like a P5 program than we do a G5 program.

However, the definition of the P5 is the members of the 5 power conferences, which are the Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, ACC, and PAC-12. Notre Dame is included with that group because they are affiliated with the ACC as a partial member.

BYU isn't affiliated with these conferences in any way, and as such it doesn't matter how good BYU is or how much they resemble a P5 program because without that affiliation they won't be considered part of that group.
