I bought an entry level Cannondale in December on Ebay for $500 (including shipping). I checked last week and the same bike is selling for $1200-$1400. Also, if you live in an area where you may get frequent flats from punctures, save yourself the headache and get a set of Continental Gatorskin Ultra tyres.
