Yes. Religion had absolutely nothing to do with it.

You Ute fans so vastly overestimate your school it's funny. Utah = Vandy = Kansas = Rutgers = flash in the pan. You each have finished ranked about 5 times in the past 100 years, you've each won less than a handful of conference championships (but only you had the benefit of playing in the lowly MWC/WAC). Seriously, you could only manage 5 conference championships in crappy leagues over 100 years?! Bronco Mendenhall has finished ranked almost as many times (4) as your program in its entire history. Your fanbase is famous for classlessness, and you have assumed your rightful place as a doormat who doesn't go to bowl games. Par for the course considering that's where you usually ended up in the 'lowly WAC'.

Nobody remembers let alone cares that you went to the Fiesta Bowl a decade ago. Kansas and Illinois went to BCS bowls recently as well and they're both just like you; doormats. Enjoy the cellar and we'll enjoy finishing ranked this year.
