this." Ok, make some law and cap CEO pay. Now what? It's will have zero effect on anything (except maybe cause some CEOs to do something else). What's the end game? Just make us feel a little better for minute? It's not a zero sum game. It's not like you can cut your CEO's pay in half and that the money left over will be distributed to the employees. He's not taking the money from the orphans.

To your question, I think 98% of CEOs make reasonable comp and there are some, a few, very notable outliers that cause me to scratch my head. BUt more to the point, I try not to worry about what other people make and whether its reasonable. I certainly don't want to tell poor people that they have to make a least $x if they want to have a job (i.e. minimum wage) and I don't want to tell psychotic, type-A, caffeine pumped CEOs that work 110 hours a week that they can't make more than $y. If it's not illegal, I say go for it. If OU Cougar hates it, then he should go be CEO of JP Morgan.

The truth is, you have about as much chance of become $100 million CEO as you do of winning the lottery.
