here's why:
1) They called holding on the kickoff return for a touchdown and reversed it. As Kelly Poppinga said, they almost never call that. But the Pac 10.2 refs sure did
2) We didn't have ANY calls go our way
3) They didn't even review the call on the punt when it looked like a Ute guy touched it and we recovered it. I realize he probably didn't touch it, but I was sitting on the 20 yard line 20th row right in front of him, and in real time it definitely looked like he did. Why wouldn't they even review it?
4) Towards the beginning of the game, there were 3 separate times that their guys were holding our players down with their faces in the ground after the play, BLATANT personal fouls, stuff you didn't see on TV, and we never got a call.
5) It was horrible. Worst display of officiating I've EVER seen. Seriously, I wasn't joking when I said that these were the EXACT same refs that reffed the ASU Wisconsin game the week before. Did you see the end of that game? It was absolutely horrendous, and everyone knew it.
Just so you know I'm pretty level-headed about the reffing, in 2013 when we lost to Utah in Salt Lake, I actually think they did a great job and that was completely our fault. I wasn't upset at all after it about the refs, even though we lost (even if they wouldn't have called the penalties at the end of the game)
P.S. EVEN with all that about the refs, we still should've won. I give the other 40% of the blame to us not being prepared, or playing tight - AGAIN, against Utah. But the refs hurt us.
