Kid we played against in Jr. High hit his growth spurt first. He was large for
his age but by the time we reached Soph in HS, a lot of kids had passed him. When we played him though, the coach devised the "Get Tom Play". The kid played MLB on D. The play was to run straight at him and everyone ignore whoever was in front of you and everyone go straight for Tom. Coach wanted to send a message that we were not intimidated by him (it was as much for our psyche as it was for his). We ended up with a huge pile in the middle of the field and the RB gained 2 yards on the play!! It was all fun though and we did win the game!
