Do other states not have any celebrations like this? I think it's great.
Ya, parades can always be over the top and many people would rather avoid them in the first place. But, other than a big parade in SL, there isn't much more about the day to mock.
The pioneer exodus and settling Utah is pretty significant. It's an okay thing to choose a day to celebrate that.
